HOPS / S&HRC
Healthy Options Project Skopje (HOPS) and the Coalition for Protection and Promotion of Sexual and Health Rights of Marginalized Communities (the Sexual and Health Rights Coalition) have worked in partnership since 2006 to highlight the concerns of sex workers in Macedonia. HOPS was founded in 1997 in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, to provide harm reduction services for young people, drug users, sex workers and their families. HOPS has since expanded its work developing a network of harm reduction services across Macedonia. Established in 2006, the Sexual and Health Rights Coalition unites groups, such as HOPS and STAR-STAR (an association of marginalized workers), which work with marginalized groups such as drug users, sex workers, lesbians, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons (LGBT), and people living with HIV/AIDS. The Sexual and Health Rights Coalition in Macedonia have designed two questionnaires to help researchers document rights abuses against sex workers.
